The Waltham Boys & Girls Club held staff vs. kid’s relay races in the pool last month. One of the kids teams just out touched the Tiger Shark All-Stars staff team for the win; the staff team was comprised of Jessica Causland, Tricia Lucente, Liz Curtis, and Scarlette LeBlanc.
This month, the winning team raced against a team comprised of staff and volunteers. This event was strictly for fun, but highly competitive as the kid’s team was declared undefeated, even while the younger participants swam a 200 medley relay and the older team swam a 200 freestyle relay.
The participants in the race included: Team Ferocious (kids team) Sarah Wing, Michael Libertini, Nate Thomas, and Esteven Regelado; Older & Wiser (staff and volunteers) Bob Marcou, Michele Haber, Dan Maude, and Jenn Aldworth.
It was a fantastic event,” said Aquatics Director, Scarlette LeBlanc, and it gave the Club members the opportunity to create a bond with Club volunteers.”
This event was a great experience for all as it not only drew the members closer to the adults, but also allowed the adults to have some competitive fun with both each other and the kids. The best part of all, the kids on the winning team received dinner at the Ninety-Nine with Club Executive Director, Jennifer Aldworth.
The Waltham Boys & Girls Club is dedicated to inspiring and enabling all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The Waltham Boys & Girls Club provides program opportunities for nearly 1,200 members each year. The Club is open to children ages 6-18, with an annual membership fee of only $15.
